Gala, de decernarea a premiilor Oscar programată inițial pentru luna februarie, a fost amânată până pe 25 aprilie 2021, tocmai în speranța că pandemia se estompează până atunci, în speranța că la începutul anului cinematografele se vor redeschide și ele, și cât mai multe filme vor deveni eligibile pentru o nominalizare.

Au schimbat și regulamentul anul ăsta, ba chiar au prelungit termenul limită, până la care un film se poate califica pentru nominalizare. În loc de decembrie, l-au extins până la finalul lunii februarie.

Până la Oscaruri mai avem Globurile de Aur, pe 28 februarie, Critics Choice în martie și Premiile BAFTA pe 11 aprilie.

Să nu uităm și că în 2021 avem și noi șanse la Oscaruri, cu documentarul Colectiv, al lui Alexander Nanau, pus de multe publicații importante pe lista celor mai bune filme de anul ăsta.
